You can read all of the articles and posts about the dangers and evils of PowerPoint but it is still a very good tool for the trainer. Of course it should be used professionally and sparingly. I have embedded a video I made a while ago on the use of PowerPoint. The look of PowerPoint is important. I noticed recently that many people do not know that you can access many great templates and designs online through the Microsoft Office portal. You can do this within PowerPoint or do it by going to here. There are also some great templates freely available on the Articulate E- learning community (costs nothing to join). There are also some paid options which are great. I know a number of people who have used this website. It has some fantastic flash based templates and designs which if used correctly could be very engaging. Here is a great link to a creative approach of combining twitter with PowerPoint.
