I train leaders and managers in a wide range of topics and we often touch on empathy. Empathy always comes up as a quality that participants believe management should have. And rightly so. Often it is difficult to understand and grasp. It is harder still to develop empathy as a personal quality. To achieve this you must first have a very clear understanding of what it is.
