Twitter.com

There has been an incredible amount written about twitter and I am sure that you have an opinion about it even if you have never used it before. If you have never tried it, please give it a go today for just 30 minutes. The reason for this exercise is that most people do not realise that it is one of the best research and search tools on the web. Yes, you can use it talk to random people or people who interest you but it’s what it can provide to a teacher/trainer that is more important.  It is great for two reasons. You can search for keywords using twitter which allows you to put in a word like elearning and then find out how many people are discussing that topic. You can then comment and ask questions. The second part of this is that people are constantly broadcasting through twitter new articles, blog posts etc on certain topics. From our example above, if I search for elearning, not only do I access interested people but they will be posting up to date information that they have found to anyone who is watching. You click on the addresses provided and you get information that would take you hours to find via Google. Twitter itself is not that great of a platform to communicate with. Fortunately some frees services make the whole twitter experience much easier to use. You need to go to twitter first to get an account but then try out these two free platform providers who make the experience truly rewarding. My favourites are Hootsuite and Pluggio. Tweetdeck is also a good one but you do need to download it to your computer. Try it out. If you have any questions please let me know. If you want to follow me look user logicooltrain and worldchangenow. Hope to see you online.
