The New Year – what’s happening below the surface

Check out Justins photo’s here!

Back again. I have been on a small break completely free of technology. I recommend it for everyone. It is very relaxing. It is amazing how much you don’t miss the technology as well as you really don’t miss much of anything, eg news, information, crap etc. You definitely get a lot of reading done.

It should be an interesting new year with a new government in full swing. Check out Abbott’s speech here if you didn’t hear it. Have a go! He should have added have a go with less as they cut and slash the very aspects that they promised to improve. I work in education and I watched it slashed last year and know that it has bigger cut backs on the way. I am also currently working in a consulting role with health and it is being cut severely. But…have a go!

Well, I will be having a go but not for the government who, honestly, really does need to have a go. I’d like to hear about what you are up to this year. Please comment this year and make this a more two way blog.

I have two holiday questions as I am confused. I am often inadvertently teaching basic etiquette in most of my sessions and I am stuck on two things. Shared pathways. We have many shared pathways on the central coast and I assumed that the rule is stay to the left just like the road and share the path. This doesn’t seem to happen here. People meander all over the path often blocking it completely. What is the rule? Second etiquette question when you are at the beach how far do you try to sit away from another group of people when you have a pretty clear beach? At my local beach which is over 2 kms long some people will plonk themselves down about 6 foot from you when there is large sections of the beach uninhabited. What is the right space between people on a uncrowded beach.

I look forward to keeping you informed in 2014.
