Reading, understanding people and empathy

First, sorry, I haven’t written a post for a while. It has been a busy hectic time. On top of enjoying a very healthy business period I am right in the middle of moving house and location.

I wanted to cover in this post the importance of reading and emotional intelligence. I read sixty plus books a year. A mixture of fiction and non-fiction. I believe that my reading over the years has sharpened my mind and also given me a broad perspective of people in the world and hence developed my emotional intelligence. This is backed up by a recent article in Harvard Business Review. Please read this – click here for article.

So, start reading. Join Goodreads. Great website where you can track your reading as well as get good advice on what books to read. Link up with me if you want.

Two books I have read recently which will enhance your emotional intelligence and cultural understanding are: Everything I never told you and Too much lip

Both are great fictional books which have done more for my EI than many books on EI. Try them out and let me know what you think.

More posts to come in he future.
