Interesting Times

Thought it would be a great idea to get my blog back into action. It has been a little random lately has I have been a little distracted by what is going on in the world. In fact, that is a bit of a lie really. I have probably never been more disconnected from the world. When the virus hit I was just about to move house to a 100 acre property. Good timing I guess as I am definitely social isolated from others now. Most of the training I was booked in to do was cancelled and I used the spare time to move, build, renovate, install etc etc on the property. That’s still going on but there has been a growing amount of zoom training scheduled into my calendar which has allowed me to get back into the work routine, all be it slightly different now.

Take this morning for example. I woke up, had a couple of cups of coffee and read a novel. Then went for run across the mountain here. I’m now doing this blog post and reading through some news feeds. I’m going to install an antenna after this and then at 1.30 pm I have a 90 minute project management program to deliver. I’ll probably spend the afternoon working on some building project after that and then have a spa and beer. Tough day!

What am I missing. Contact with a real group of people in a training setting. Zooms the best virtual classroom tool I have used over the years but it definitely does not compete with a live, face to face training session. What I am not missing. Commuting, really early mornings, crowds and meetings.

Thought I would include this link to Kevin Kelly’s blog (really smart guy) who has recently posted 68 bits of Unsolicited Advice. Some great tips here. Might help you out.
