I just finished writing a mini program on flexible work arrangements and then by coincidence watched the video below and it brings up some interesting questions. Here are some things I thought of (you might want to watch the video first):

1. Most trainers I know go into work when in reality they only deliver training once or twice a week. They go it to write training, prepare materials and answer emails. Why do they need to go into work?

2. I write a lot of training programs that people then travel to attend. With all the technology we have is that still the most effective way.

3. People still expect me to come in to do admin work on training I am providing. Their systems do not allow access externally. Eg I can’t file a expense account request without coming into the office and I can’t submit results without access to the office.

4. Is your training preparing people for the modern aspects of work or is it still based back in the 70’s.

5. I just spent a good part of the day doing paperwork (electronically) that I am sure no-one will ever look at (and has no value)- why?

Watch the video and put your thinking cap on. What really needs to change here.
