This just popped up on the ABC news feed and this sort of information really irritates me, even on a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Please read the report and make your own conclusions. How someone makes the jump that increased enrolments in Public Schools are due to the MySchool website is either the worst researcher in the world or has some severe mental health issues. Unfortunately it is just propaganda to support new website amendments which have further fueled the debate over the website and its intended purpose. The time, effort and money that goes into the website and the data gathering activities could be better spent on improving educational opportunities in schools rather than making wild claims about how information is helping parents select a school, be it public or private.
My opinion, with no data at all, parents are enrolling students in the public system because they simply don’t have the money to spend on the exorbitant private schools. Money is tight and getting tighter.
