The great challenge of training is not training skills or knowledge but behaviours, attitudes and personal attributes such as integrity, professionalism, creativity and intuition. Some of these examples can be approached from a skill and knowledge platform for example training participants in creativity techniques or exposing participants to theory and research on ethics and integrity but getting someone or a group to actually develop these abilities is basically hit or miss. If it was straight forward and easy we would all be doing it. Who would not turn up to a creativity training program if you knew that you would walk away more creative, not just more knowledgeable on how to be creative. With this in mind I hope you find this article interesting. The US military is attempting to train intuition. They’re not sure on how to do it yet but they are exploring the concept. Is it possible?
