Sunday Zephyr – Being obsolete and smiling

Mecure training venue – Port Macquarie

I hope your weekend is going well despite the end of daylight saving. I have tried to balance this post as the first part is about testing whether you are becoming obsolete in your role at work. It’s not the happiest thing to be thinking about on a relaxing weekend but it is something we all need to face at some point as technology chisels away at jobs. Take the assessment below.  The key point for me is to be doing something about it. Take some time out today to think about how you will either stay in your current role, learn how to deal with the changes occurring to your role, leave your role for another or build a strategy which will enable you to exist till retirement.

Take the assessment here at Harvard Business Review.

To balance this out I want to remind you to smile and laugh as often as you can. The research is conclusive on this. There are many articles on this. Here are just two:

It does work.
