Who knows? Maybe the guy below? Maybe not? It is an interesting set of slides and also a video at the end. Worth a look and listen and a bit of reflection. You have probably heard parts of it before. I think they are all guessing and poking around but the real answer is that it could take a completely different turn depending on a range of other factors we are not even aware of at the moment. It is going to involve technology but in what form? I don’t think Governments are going to give up education yet. It is still a great way of controlling the public and hence uncontrolled education and training is probably not going to happen for quite a while. Options will increase and a group of people will choose to go elsewhere. I like MOOC’s and am currently doing one on music but to keep my career and business I have to conform to traditional education to get the required certificates. Will I ever escape that. Would you hire a carpenter to build a house who didn’t have a trade certificate and licence? Probably not. Would you hire me to write you a training program without C IV TAE and other associated certificates? Probably not.
