As an ex HR Manager we used to talk a lot about strategic human resources but honestly I don’t think in my experience the rest of the business perceived HR as strategic partner. We were often a pain that needed to be put up with. How much of your training and development is strategic or is just reactionary? This article is a good reminder of how we really need to think about the business strategy and align our training and development to assist this strategy rather than getting painfully in the way.
