I just started a new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment program last night with a great group on the Central Coast. Our program starts with Making a Presentation which I believe is one of the critical skills for all trainers. Training people is a great profession and requires a large range of skills but if you don’t know how to switch to presentation mode rather than  training mode you will not be able to sell your ideas, training programs, budget requests and sound recommendations. I’ve watched too many trainers trying to train a group of senior managers into giving them extra money for another great program rather than selling the concept like a presenter. Make sure you can competently fulfil both roles. I have a number of previous posts on presentations (use the category search on the left to find them) and here is a new link that contains some excellent tips on making a great presentation.

For all those people starting out on a new trainer program or for that matter any new education or training program designed to change or develop your career here is a great video on how to become successful. Hope it helps!
