How has your week been? Mine has been exceptional busy which for a self employed person is great but despite this I am becoming increasingly uneasy about education, training and my role in it. I am consistently asked to do things that are educationally unsound but economically useful. As technology provides enormous advantages and time saving tools I am asked to provide more paperwork. To save time I am asked to deliver training that is fine tuned to the assessment so that participants are steered directly to the answers. I am asked to review assessments before they are fully completed so that the correct response can be coached. I am educating potential managers to know what to say and how to answer a question rather than how to model a sophisticated intelligent behavioural response to a wide range of situations. In short it is frustrating. How many of you feel the same way?
