Another busy and varied week. I am actually writing this on Thursday night as I will not get a chance tomorrow or on the weekend. This week has involved:
Night classes: C IV TAE, 2 x Dip Project Management
Day classes: 2 x Diploma PM
Online: Three PM Courses and 1 Diploma Sustainability as well as online marking
Consulting: Meeting for new project that will take up a good chunk of next year
Can’t tell you much about the other project for a variety of reasons by I am currently in Orange and have been visting a few establishments around the West.
Learning this week: Unfortuntely nothing much seems to change. Management and organsiational design is not that complicated but time and time again the same silly mistakes are made. In One sense this great as it will keep me in a job for ever but it is a huge waste of money.
My second key learning is that most people just want to do a good job and get on with their lives. 10 to 15% of an organisations staff though are true idiots, trouble makers and are in capable of participating in society. Don’t let them in the door – work on your recruitment practices and lock them out.
