Here is another weekly review technique using seven questions courtesy of the changeblog.

This week was back to busy mode even though we had the Monday off. As a brief recap I carried out the following:

Two night classes – C IV TAE and a Diploma of Project Management

Two distance programs in PM (one of these was an online webinar hosted by me)

OTEN marking as per usual

Two full days in Rooty Hill (Onesteel) delivering C IV TAE

A new 1/2 day program on Friday on Project Management

Setup next week re meetings with clients for new projects

Marking for all of the courses above

Not bad for 4 days.

The seven questions

What did I fail?

Nothing I don’t think. All sessions went well. Some could have been better and I have thought about that.

Before I forget I could be more productive. Seems odd I know but I still manage to waste time.

What am I resisting?

Working on future development needs. I have two months to go and I have to finish two diplomas myself. One is by recognition and I am finding it very easy to not start. I must start this process next week.

I am also resisting thinking about the future I think in one aspect. I am using too busy as an excuse but I really need to get onto it.

What did I do well?

Survive the week. I have this ongoing cough and ill feeling which many have and it is making work difficult but I am doing ok. My sessions this week were not perfect but there were good. I also impressed a few people with my knowledge and established some new contacts which may be very useful in the future.

What can I do better?

Everything. I am satisfied with what I am doing but I realise that at times I could do better.  Time is just an excuse and I have a lot more potential than I am showing. I could also move into more higher paying projects if I applied myself.

Did I live in alignment with my values and principles?

Interesting question. Yes. I can say that I do. I can’t help myself in this area. I had opportunities this week to take short cuts and goof off a bit but I didn’t. I could ignore some people who need extra attention but I can’t and more often than not I go out of my way to assist participants when I just don’t have the time. But, hey, that’s my job. I think?

Did I get closer to achieving my short, medium and long term goals?

Short term goals = yes. The rest no, but then again I need to spend some time (during Xmas) to review what those longer term goals are.

What am I grateful for?

This week..a reliable car (up and down the freeway many times), a caring wife who organised snacks etc for the two days when I was working 14 hour days, a great home to rest at, long weekends, good neighbours (footy party at our house) and a brain that still amazes me with its ability to think, talk and remember so much when I am tired and challenged.

Ok, so that is my week in review. What about you? Try the seven question approach. Maybe this will work for you. You will not know until you try.
