I made a mention recently in a training session of the impact that speech recognition would have on society and in the education/training sector. I think most of us to date have been frustrated by our brushes with speech recognition, in particular its use in phone services. Imagine the world though where you could just talk to your computer and it would type up your responses, search the Internet by voice command and where the majority of devices from the television to the car understood what you said and could respond accordingly. How far away is this reality? An interesting blog just appeared which gives a good overview of the state of play of voice recognition. Have a read and a think. I’m interested in your comments.
