I read the odd bit of poetry – a hangover of my schooling I guess. I am currently reading a book of the greatest 80 poems and I came accross this poem:

THE ORANGE TREE by John Shaw Neilson

Have a read by clicking the hyperlink above and see what you think.

The last stanza goes:

– Silence! the young girl said. Oh, why, Why will you talk to weary me? Plague me no longer now, for I Am listening like the Orange Tree

On this Sunday think about your training sessions. Are you wearying your audience? Are you boring them with lofty talk?

PS: While you read this I will be running a half marathon in the ACT. I am going to be weary after that.
