Friday Review

This week I want to use a simpler review process. I don’t think it has a name but it consists of three questions.

What do I need to stop doing?

What do I need to start doing?

What is important to continue doing?

Ok – so those are the questions and these are my answers for the week.

Before I start, here was the week in a quick time review. Sunday 8.30am head to the airport to catch a plane to Auckland NZ. Get there by 5.00pm and then train a group for three days. Home by Wednesday night – 10pm.

Thursday marking, design work, admin and getting prepared for Friday. Leave home at 2.30pm and drive to Lithgow to deliver a training session the next day on Project Management and Contract variation. Get there by 5.30 and deliver an online Q&A session on PM via Google Hangouts. Internet works in Lithgow.

Friday  – Project Management session to group. Goes well. Travel back to Central Coast and spend till 9pm marking online assessments. Time for beer!

What do I need to stop doing?

Something. Not sure what it is but spending too much time working and often wasting time. Travel is good but also a pain. This week travel has been extensive and in some cases paid for but still travel.

What do I need to start doing?

Working out systems to work more effectively when I travel. Outside of Australia internet is difficult and expensive. Email doesn’t work well. I should also read more and exercise more while away. Generally I do go for a run when away but excuses are easy to find and TV rules. Rarely watch TV when at home.

What is important to continue doing?

A good job. I had great feedback this week despite tiredness. Important regardless of travel etc to do the best job possible and this week I was doing a good job. NZ always presents challenges but built good rapport and had fun along with effective learning.

Try out this quick review method. Let me know how it goes.
